Fun parks were intense battlegrounds growing up. We persistently tried to knock our go-kart opponents off the road with the tenacity of a NASCAR driver and gave the mini golf ball a little kick in the right direction to ensure we made par. Hole Lot of Fun is a chance to relive these memories for those who can handle a little competition. Tickets include unlimited access to some of the outdoor attractions at Blackbeard’s Cove. Little buccaneers can play unlimited putt putt, race go-karts, jump in the bounce castle, and scale the climbing wall. And parents can take a much-needed break at the tiki bar with beer, wine, and food available for purchase. But, hell, we wouldn’t blame them for joining the tykes. In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, all the golfing, racing, jumping, and climbing will benefit Chase After a Cure, a local force behind much of the childhood cancer research in South Carolina. “Less than 4 percent of the federal cancer research budget goes to childhood cancer research … so it’s really important for people like us to step up and make up the difference,” says Adam White, executive director of Chase After a Cure.
