Home Team BBQ Organizes Hogs for the Cause Block Party

When: Sat., March 12, 12-4 p.m. 2016

This weekend Home Team BBQ’s newest location on Williman Street location, hosts Hogs for the Cause, the New Orleans-based fundraising event featuring — you guessed it — plenty of barbecue. The event raises money for pediatric brain cancer outreach services, and this Saturday’s fest hopes to recoup some of the losses from last October’s Hogs for the Cause which was cancelled due to the 1,000-year flood. Joining Home Team are Fox Bros. BBQ from Atlanta, Johnny Banta from The Atlantic Room in Kiawah, Craftsman Kitchen & Tap House, and Edmund’s Oast, providing a large sampling of cuisine. Revelry and COAST Brewing Co. will be pouring their suds, along with Cathead Vodka and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. To top it off there will be live music by local band Guilt Ridden Troubadours throughout the afternoon. This is a family-friendly event with food and craft tables just for the kids. The best part of the event is that all participants are donating their time and wares so that all proceeds from the festival will go towards Hogs for the cause, and they’re hoping to raise between $60,000-$100,000. Aaron Siegel, owner and founder of Home Team, says that above all else he is, “fired up to bring folks together and raise money for these kids and their families.”
