For the second year, the Charleston RiverDogs are teaming up with Palmetto Brewing Company to support Soldiers’ Angels, a charity that sends care packages and heartfelt letters to men and women overseas. The RiverDogs will be playing the Kannapolis Intimidators while Palmetto Brewing Company serves up their Homefront IPA, with the proceeds going to Soldiers’ Angels. The beer is aged with maple Louisville Sluggers. Some of these bats — the ones not dunked in beer of course — will be up for auction. This game coincides with Military Appreciation Night so both active and retired military get in free and the RiverDogs will be wearing their green uniforms. The military green jerseys will be auctioned off during the game with the proceeds going towards Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. If you’re one of the first 1,000 fans through the gates, you’ll receive a Military Card Set featuring local military heroes and the first 1,000 kids will receive a green army man.
