In 2010 artist Tim Hussey created a retrospective Drown Then Swim at the City Gallery at Waterfront Park. He was only 40. Four years, a wedding, a new job, and a move to LA later, the artist is back with a featured exhibit at George Gallery simply titled It Want Wait. For this latest installment, the contemporary painter relies “less on his background in illustration ... focusing more on composition and color palette in a non-objective style,” says curator Anne Siegfried. In his attempt to paint the “truth” Hussey says this exhibit “is unfiltered and raw, without any recasting of experiences or emotions through self-conscious or analytical thought.” Hard to say what that means, but Hussey always moves us, no matter what existential thought process he’s reflecting on. And It Want Wait is sure to do the same.
