Jackass Flats

When: Mon., July 12 2010

Jackass Flats, an acoustic/bluegrass/Americana band from Richmond, Va., hits the Pour House stage on Monday evening for a free set of backwoods, foot-stompin’ tunes. In 2004, the band received a Virginia Music Award for The Best Americana Jam Band. The next year, the boys produced their first album of originals, Purgatory Mountain. They’ve rocked stages with many diverse talents, including Keller Williams, The Wailers, Ani DiFranco, and Drive-By Truckers. Stephen Kuester (guitar, pedal steel) and Travis Rinehart (banjo, guitar) formed after meeting in high school and have been making music ever since. The band has grown into a five man quintet including the talents of “Sweet Eddie Carlton on bass, Cory Potrafka on keys and harmonica, and Scott Lewis on drums. Show time is 9 p.m. —Lindsay Paris
