Jason Aldean w/ Lee Brice, McClymonts

When: Fri., Oct. 1 2010

After multimillion sales and a string of chart-topping hits — including “The Truth,” “Big Green Tractor,” “She’s Country,” “Why,” and “Hicktown” — country singer/songwriter Jason Aldean earned a small pile of awards and nominations. Last month, he kicked off a major U.S. tour that brings him to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday. He and his band are working on their latest album, Wide Open. On Nov. 2, they’re set to release his fourth studio album, a 15-song collection of dirt-kickin’ rompers and anthems titled My Kinda Party. “The album is named My Kinda Party because it’s totally representative of what I like and what my fans have come to expect on my records and at the party we throw at our shows,” says Aldean. “I think the key is knowing who you are as an artist and taking it to an extreme without ripping anybody else off. It’s all about knowing what it is that sets you apart.” The album includes a duet with pop singer Kelly Clarkson and features a bit of Aldean’s “Southern rap,” too.
