Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit w/ Leslie

When: Fri., Aug. 27 2010

“I want it to be known that it’s a band record,” roots-rock singer/guitarist Jason Isbell says of his latest album on Lightning Rod Records. “I want it to be known that it’s something we all did together. Even though I wrote the songs, it was a very inclusive project.” The Alabama-based bandleader/songwriter (and former Drive-By Trucker) brings his group back to town to headline two shows at the Pour House this week behind the recently released 11-song self-titled collection. The 400 Unit features keyboardist Derry DeBorja, guitarist Browan Lollar, bassist Jimbo Hart, and guests. Charleston-based power trio Leslie open on Friday with a set of new material. —T.
