Roots musician James “Jimbo” Mathus (ex- Squirrel Nut Zippers) brings his group the Tri-State Coalition — bassist Justin Showah and keyboardist Eric Carlton (both from Mississippi), guitarist Matt Pierce (from Arkansas), and drummer Austin Marshall (from Missouri) — back to town behind a countrified disc titled Confederate Buddha and a forthcoming EP This July, Mathus will soon release a six-song vinyl EP titled Blue Light (due in July on the Big Legal Mess label. Local band Guilt Ridden Troubadour opens at 9 p.m.
