When: June 10-11, 8-9 p.m. 2010
Mills' humor is smart, funny, and original. She's been compared to such greats as Bill Cosby, Ellen Degeneres and Jerry Seinfeld. Her comedy is clean, clever and relatable - she finds the funny in everyday life. A Charleston Breast Center special event that's part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
Laughing for healthy breasts
The Charleston Breast Center has been busy hosting events to help fund their mission of being a facility where women can receive compassionate care when being screened for cancer. For Piccolo, they're bringing in comedienne Karen Mills to amuse you.
Keeping it clean
Karen Mills is a veteran of comedy stages, and she's known for her clean routine and funny bits. It's called relatable humor, because you can relate to the situations she describes. Like when you're lost and you've got to turn down the radio in the car so you can see better.
A mighty basketball hall of famer
An interesting fact: Mills, standing a tiny 5'2", was an All-American basketball player for UT-Chattanooga, leading the nation in assists and becoming the first female UTCer inducted into the school's basketball hall of fame. Doesn't have anything to do with being funny, but interesting nonetheless.
