With spring springing around the Holy City, there’s never a shortage of fun events for good causes. This is especially true for this year’s Kulture Klash, finally returning after a four-year hiatus. Headlined by Mix Master Mike of the legendary Beastie Boys, the event will also feature live music from acts like MC Squared, Cousin Dan, DJ’s Rocky Horror, Coolhand, Woodgrain, and Trail-Mix. If that’s not enough to get you interested, the event will also have a full beer garden, dancers, food trucks, circus performers, a laser light show, and a variety of visual art both on display and for sale. Proceeds from the event will go towards Lowcountry AIDS services, an organization dedicated to helping citizens of the tri-county with HIV/AIDS. “Lowcountry AIDS Services serves 2000 people each year, providing prevention and education programs as well as free HIV testing,” says Holly Fisher, PR Director for LAS. “They also provide medical care, housing assistance, and a host of other services [for HIV/AIDS victims.]” For so many activities for such a great cause, Kulture Klash stands out in the sea of the city’s events.
