Lisa Shimko: Totem

When: Fri., June 10, 6-8 p.m. 2016

Join Lisa Shimko for the opening reception of her current exhibit, Totem. Originally from York County, Pennsylvania, Shimko has been enchanting the Charleston art scene for years with paintings that intertwine whimsical narratives with important environmental issues. “Her artwork is a reflection of her awareness of our local, as well as world wide ecosystems,” says Sarah Miller, gallery director of the Mitchell Hill Gallery. Shimko’s work has been used for the 2014 Charleston Wine and Cheese Festival Poster as well as several Charleston Farmers Market posters, and she was recently named the winner of the 2016 North Charleston Arts Festival Design Competition.
