Living Tradition: Painting Sacred Icons in the 21st Century

Orthodox Arts Journal, a member of the Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts, presents Living Tradition: Painting Sacred Icons in the 21st Century, on May 23 at 1:00, at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church. An exhibition of icons and talks by two prominent artists, Philip Davydov and Fr. Silouan Justiniano. Philip Davydov is a second-generation professional iconographer from St. Petersburg, Russia. Fr. Silouan Justiniano, originally from Puerto Rico, trained to be a modern artist in New York City, and is now an Orthodox monk. The event includes open discussion with the artists and tour of the church.
