When: Fri., Sept. 2, 5-8 p.m. and Sat., Sept. 3, 12-6 p.m. 2016
End summer with one last barbeque at this year’s Lowcountry Hogfest, a family-friendly event that takes place over two days and features food trucks, cornhole, a wing-eating contest, and more. On Saturday at noon attendees can look forward to live music from blues rock outfit Jump Castle Riot and singer-songwriter Lauren Hall. There will be plenty of contests for the competitive folks out there, from a tattoo contest at 1 p.m., a beard and moustache contest at 2 p.m., and a car contest at 3 p.m. In addition to providing good food and a healthy dose of competition, the Hogfest also benefits the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. “Almost every event Low Country Harley Davidson hosts gives back to some charity,” says marketing manager Kelly Carroll. “It affects everyone at some point.” The Adopt-A-Hog competition, which pits decorated concrete hogs against one another, will be judged at 4 p.m. The trophies for this competition were made by patients at the Children’s Hospital.
