The Lowcountry Artist Market will once again host 40 vendors at the Music Farm on Saturday. Founder and organizer Kristen Gastaldo got the idea when she was looking for jewelry on Etsy and discovered a vendor right in Charleston. “I thought it would be fun to host a mini farmers market at the Farm,” she says. Initially, Gastaldo recruited vendors, but now that she is hosting her seventh market, the recruiting does itself. “I try to keep the table cost low for the vendors,” Gastaldo says, “so my advertising budget is low.” The past few markets, she has had to turn artists away to stay within the 40-table maximum. Attendees can expect vintage vendors, stationery, jewelry, and even the Salty Lounger, which sells wooden beach chairs. The event is free and the bar is open, with mimosas and Bloody Marys discounted for a Saturday morning happy hour. Hello My Name is BBQ and Carla Bakes will be outside so you can re-fuel during shopping breaks.
