Peace, love, and electronic music — find all this and more at Rage Star’s Magical Electric Woods. In celebration of Rage Stars’ one year anniversary, the festival will help connect you with nature while implementing all the latest sound and light technology with electronic acts from across the Southeast. Brian Lonie, Rage Stars founder, says he’s always had the dream of holding a musical festival in the woods, similar to Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Mich. On Saturday, his dreams become a reality. Headlined by Atlanta act Loud Cloud, the festival also features YLD NOOBZ, Maiki, Lord Posh, Tye Dye, AbsoluteZ3R0, Ambition, Kill Clinton, Whitty Mixon, and Mimik Mcdowell. Cory’s Grilled Cheese and Zombie Bob’s Pizza will provide the eats. Alex Guyon will be on site painting on a huge canvas throughout the day, and Caleb Alexander will be performing magic tricks. The trees and woods around the venue will be decked out in blazing lights, from strung-up Christmas tree lights to lasers. “You’ll know it when you see it,” Lonie says about the colorful woods. “Half of [the musicians] are coming from out of town, like North Carolina and Georgia, so it’s captivated a lot,” Lonie says. “It’s been in the making for seven months.” VIP tickets include complimentary drinks and access to the lounge deck and silent disco area, as long as you’re of drinking age. Head to the Charleston Skate Park Warehouse for the official after party from 12:30 a.m.-5 a.m. Ten percent of the proceeds will go toward Charleston Animal Society.
