Interesting fact: Jewish composer Gustav Mahler’s work was banned from being played in Nazi Germany. In November, Charleston Symphony Orchestra resurrects the artist’s work for three nights of performances. Each evening will include Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in addition to Carl Maria von Weber’s Overture to Die Freischutz, and Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs. These three classic scores will be conducted by Steven White, whose wife Elizabeth Futral will share her impressive vocal abilities.
