Mardi Gras Celebration w/ Slight Stench, Quiana Parler

When: Tue., Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m. 2012

With drummer Quentin Baxter and trumpeter Charlton Singleton sharing bandleader duties at their favorite dive bar on Mardi Gras, newly-formed local combo Slight Stench’s holiday set at West Ashley’s Voodoo Tiki Bar and Lounge might be one of the hottest jazz gigs of the week. The Mardi Gras holiday is an annual tradition at this New Orleans/Caribbean-themed venue. This year, their musical lineup looks strong enough to complement their food and drink menu of “real-deal New Orleans fare.” The party is set for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Slight Stench gets things cookin’ with some full-bodied blues, swing, and swagger at 7 p.m. Soul/pop vocalist Quiana Parler and her band will close the show at 9 p.m.
