Modern Skirts w/ The Specs

When: Fri., May 28 2010

Returning to Charleston behind the acclaimed album All of Us in Our Night — a sophisticated collection of modern indie-pop — Athens, Ga., band The Modern Skirts plan to get excruciatingly melodic at the Tin Roof this Friday. Invigorated by a recent road trip to South By Southwest in Austin, the Skirts — JoJo Glidewell, John Swint, Jay Gulley, and Phillip Brantley — will be armed with a double-set of gems from All of Us in Our Night, the previous disc Catalogue of Generous Men, and a pile of new tunes from a forthcoming studio album. The Skirts have garnered high praise in the alternative media and on college radio in recent years. Mike Mills of R.E.M. is a big fan of the band. So is David Lowery of Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker. So are the dudes in The Specs. —T. Ballard Lesemann
