When: Tue., May 11, 7-9 p.m. 2010
Passionate about the story of your food? Make plans to attend Nosh & Nourish, an evening hosted by W.O.K. and Slow Food Charleston. Cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres will be followed by a sit-down dinner featuring local, organic fare.
In the second hour of the event, SFC will screen a short film titled Nourish. Don’t worry, it doesn’t hold the same shock value as Food, Inc., but it does uncover the ties food has to our environment, health, and community. It ends with what steps you can take to create more sustainable foods in the future. The film features well-known food politicos like Michael Pollan, Alice Waters, and Jamie Oliver.
Slow Food Charleston is an organization that promotes good, fair, and clean food. W.O.K. specializes in seasonal fusion cuisine without artificial additives, pesticides, preservatives, antibiotics, and hormones.
Price: $20/Slow Food Charleston members, $25/non-members
