Peanut Butter Buddy Time

When: Thu., July 26, 8 p.m. 2012

Theatre 99 is always opening their doors to local performers who have original ideas, which is why they’ll be playing host to the one-night-only sketch comedy show Peanut Butter Buddy Time, written by two buddies named Sam Jackel and Vince Fabra. “After doing stand-up comedy together, Sam and I had conversations about putting on a sketch show,” Fabra says. “We would go home and write some sketches, and then come back and talk about them. We’re just two buddies who want to try a different form of comedy.” Jackel has been doing stand-up, theater, and improv in Charleston for several years now, while Fabra is just beginning to get comfortable in the scene. The show features a diverse group of local comedians and actors, including Dusty Slay, Haydn Haring, Derek Humphrey, Andy Livengood, and Emily Giant. “The sketches are very independent of each other,” Fabra says, “but if I had to say there was a theme to the show, I’d say it’s just all about being peanut butter buddies.”
