The lineup is out for Pecha Kucha Charleston Six, set for Wed., May 19. Pecha Kucha, which is Japanese for the sound of conversation, has gained momentum since first appearing in Charleston. The newest location hasn’t been revealed yet, and will be announced three days before the presentations.

This time around, Pecha Kucha features Kevin Harrison, filmmaker and creative director for PDA video in Charleston; Karen Myers, director of Redux Contemporary Art Center and mixed-media artist; Geoffrey Richardson, co-owner of Lava Salon in West Ashley; Ashley Reid, the award-winning fashion designer behind Clewis Reid; Twitpic founder Noah Everett; painter Joel Parker; and landscape architect Todd Richardson. Children's book author Jonathan Miller is the emcee for the event and will allot speaker the usual six minutes, 40 seconds to present using 20 images.

Those with an appetite for more than just conversation won’t be disappointed either, since Pecha Kucha Night will feature fare from three different food stations (Asian, Sliders, and Nachos) with items priced between $3 and $6. Additionally, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, because after all, the website claims that “Pecha Kucha is about thinking and drinking.” Pecha Kucha Charleston Six will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 and will sell out more quickly than you think.
