Nature + Pets, City Picks

When: Fri., April 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Sat., April 16, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. 2016

Check out the 15th Annual Plantasia garden market, where you get to do more than look at pretty flowers (although there’s plenty of that, too). Local farms will be selling produce and there will also be a Real Yard Sale event that features gently used garden items like planters, tools, décor, and more. New this year is Plantasia’s close partnership with artist Julia Deckman who, in addition to being the poster artist this year, will also be featured in a new Plantasia 2016 edition of greeting cards. Plantasia is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Charleston Horticultural Society, and executive director Kyle Barnette — who you may know as What If? Productions artistic director — says it’s plenty of fun, too. “There is not a happier group of people than gardeners and having them all celebrating at the same time is a truly enjoyable experience,” says Barnette.
