Pocket of Charleston

When: Fri., Nov. 4 2011

Local singer/songwriter Tyler Boone has organized a new local music showcase at the Village Tavern in Mt Pleasant. The first Pocket of Charleston Music Festival features acoustic sets on the venue’s front patio before moving inside to the main music room. On Thursday, headlining indie-pop band Elonzo shares the stage with local acts Run Dan Run, the Green and Bold, Corey Webb, Harrison Ray, and guests. Saturday’s lineup brings the Sun-Dried Vibes along with Boone himself, All Night Kung Fu, Brother, Taylor More, and others. Boone and his colleagues have been putting this together for the last few months with the mission of assembling like-minded local artists. Expect a variety of pop/rock/jam styles from some of Charleston’s best up-and-coming and established musicians. Boone has been gigging all over town this year supporting his June EP, A New Start. He also joins Taylor Moore and Run Dan Run for a special free benefit show on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Monster Music (proceeds benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank).
