Pop: Summer | New Work by Cory Oberndorfer

When: Aug. 15-Sept. 30 2014

We still get excited when we hear the ice cream truck coming down the street. In fact, there have been times where we’ve beaten the kids out to the truck to make sure we get our hands on a cool, delish Firecracker. Nothing beats that red, white, and blue popsicle on a hot summer day. We wonder if artist Cory Oberndorfer feels the same way. After all, his latest exhibit, Pop: Summer, is all about ice cream truck treats. “Cory caught our eye when he was an artist who exhibited at Redux Contemporary Art Center in 2012,” says Megan Schaeffer, gallery manager at Jericho Arts. The paintings in the exhibit, from push-ups to creamsicles, represent the joys of summertime — they might even bring back some of your youthful glee too. King of Pops — natch — will be serving up some of their own delicious pops to the event, and there’ll be complimentary beverages available at the event as well.
