Pouring Tea: Black Gay Men of the South

The College of Charleston Avery Institute and South Carolina Equality will join Charleston Pride to present this Stand Out show by E. Patrick Johnson, African-American performer, scholar, and current Chair of the Department of Performance Studies at Northwestern University. The oral history of black gay men who were born, raised, and continue to live in the South, this performance covers coming of age in the South, religion, sex, transgenderism, love stories, and coming out.
