Pups at the Pitch

When: Sat., Sept. 3, 7:30 p.m. 2016

Looking for a fun way to introduce your four-legged friend to a two-legged sport? Bring your dog to local soccer team Charleston Battery’s game this Saturday for Pups at the Pitch. Tickets are $20 and will grant access for one person and one of their collared comrades to the game against the Rochester Rhinos. The Very Important Pup tent will have giveaways that include treats, bowls, toys, and trips to doggie daycare. This event’s goal is to raise money for the Charleston Animal Society and the I Am Caitlyn Anti-Cruelty Fund, whose namesake will be an honorary captain for the Charleston Battery. Caitlyn, a chocolate pitbull mix, has become a national symbol for anti-cruelty after she was found in North Charleston with her mouth taped shut so tightly that it cut off circulation to her tongue. Now, in 2016, she has made a full recovery and has found a loving foster family. If you are interested in helping out dogs like Caitlyn and can provide a happy home, there will be dogs up for adoption during the match, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
