The PURE Experience Party, PURE Theater’s annual shindig and fundraiser, features live music, small bites, and a live auction with items ranging from getaways to pieces of contemporary art. Terry Fox, a member of PURE’s Board of Directors, lovingly calls the event a “parking lot party,” with tents set up between PURE’s back lot and The Macintosh’s heated patio. Guests can rock out to music from Beach Tiger and Minimum Wage while enjoying food from O-Ku and Indaco and an open bar from The Macintosh. As for the auction items, those start with getaways in a Maine cottage and a mountain trip to North Carolina, and end somewhere around tickets to next season’s Clemson home games and pieces of art by Tim Hussey, Nathan Durfee, and Kevin Earl Taylor. As for Fox’s favorite auction item? That would be what he calls the “odd, but incredibly beautiful,” piece of jewelry from Crogan’s Jewelry Box — a necklace made of gold-plated Palmetto bugs.
