When: Nov. 3-Dec. 31 2011
In November, Rebekah Jacob presents a show the gallerina says she’s been working toward for years. Michael Kenna is a landscape photographer who specializes in capturing images either at night or at dawn, when the light is most pliant. Most of his works look at the interaction of natural and man-made structures, and by using hours-long exposures, he’s often able to capture details that the human eye can’t see. He works in a traditional, non-digital medium and his prints are exquisitely hand-crafted. They’ve been exhibited everywhere from the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. In addition to his show at Jacob’s gallery, he’ll present a free lecture at the Halsey on Nov. 2. Seating will be limited.
