There’s something unique about the canine-human bond. No matter how many times you buy them off-brand dog food or dress them up in embarrassing outfits, they’ll always accept the invitation to lie in bed with you. You can say “thanks” with bones or fluffy toys, but the best way to give back to your furry pals is to make sure you keep them cancer-free. Help raise money for canine cancer research by bringing your pups to the Rafter’s Trot at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The day starts with a dog walk through the gardens, followed by a dance and tricks performance by Dixie Dancing Dogs. Afterward, veterinarians will host a Q&A session where dog owners can voice their concerns about cancer. The event will conclude with barbecue provided by Southern Que-N-Stew, and all guests will receive T-shirts and doggie bags for participating. All the proceeds from Rafter’s Trot will be donated to the Arch Foundation for canine cancer research at the University of Georgia.
