Rascal Flatts

When: Sat., Jan. 24, 7:30 p.m. 2009

The Coliseum is going country on Saturday, when Nashville’s favorite boy band — or would they be called a man band considering their reputation in the music biz nowadays? — joins everyone’s favorite ditzy blonde for a night of feel-good music. Rascal Flatts recently won “Favorite Group” at the People’s Choice Awards, and they’re planning to release their next album, Unstoppable, in April. The guys are known for sugary-sweet and addictive hits like “Mayberry,” “What Hurts the Most,” “These Days,” and “My Wish” — not to mention Joe Don Rooney’s booty shot in the groundbreaking “I Melt” video. And speaking of sexy and sugary-sweet, Jessica Simpson will be opening the show. Her latest release, Do You Know, takes the pop diva in a country direction. We always knew she had it in her. —Erica Jackson
