Forget the pill popping and the philandering; the Man in Black will always deserve a place in our hearts, especially when a “Ring of Fire” burns the stage at the Village Playhouse for an American celebration, Johnny Cash-style. The Village Playhouse and Repertory Co. presents Red, White and Cash, a tribute to the country and rock icon. Michael Easler and Dusty Bryan will play Cash’s famous tunes with help from featured performers Kathy Summer and Jenna Brinson. Dance to the foot stompin’ songs, including “I’ve Been Everywhere,” “Country Boy,” “Jackson,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and others. The hits will be accompanied by some American classics like “This Land is Your Land,” “Sea to Shining Sea,” and more. You can get as wild as Cash in his early days with beer and wine available for purchase, or just be good and stick to the hot dogs, hamburgers, and sodas. —Lindsay Paris
