When: Thursdays, Fridays, 7:30 p.m. and Sun., July 2, 2 & 6 p.m. Continues through July 2 2017
Celebrate this Fourth of July with the music of rock legend Johnny Cash at the Woolfe Street Playhouse’s family-friendly Red, White, and CASH. Featuring Michael Easler and Dusty Bryant, Kathy Summer, Jenna Bohannon, Jay Urban on guitar, Brian McCreight on drums, and Bart Saylor on banjo, the show tells the story of Cash’s life featuring performances of his music, but is not an impersonation — nobody plays Cash. “I worked closely with the performers to put together a ‘tribute’ show that would capture the spirit of Johnny Cash and give a little history about his life, to put his songs into context for audience members,” syas Keely Enright, founding director of the Village Repertory Company. “It is filled with his hits as well as a few patriotic tunes to celebrate the holiday.” Beer and wine are available for purchase throughout the show, which runs for only one weekend.
