Redux Art Auction

When: Sat., Nov. 19, 6:30-10 p.m. 2011

When you’ve got 25 studio artists at your disposal, as well as access to Benjamin Hollingsworth, Leigh Magar, Nathan Durfee, and countless others, it’s not hard to wrangle enough items for a live auction like Redux Contemporary Art Center has been doing for the last nine years. For 2011, the fundraiser moves to the Citadel’s Mark Clark Hall Auditorium, giving more space to accommodate the buzzing crowd. A wide variety of media will be represented, from sculpture to screenprints to jewelry, and a silent auction will include dinners and other items. Pieces range from $50 to $1,700, but be prepared to shell out some cash if a bidding war starts over a Conrad Guevara piece like it did last year. “There are so many great artists and works, it is hard to say what will bring the highest bid,” says Kyle LeGette, Redux’s director of development. “I personally hope that I am outbid on everything that I would have my eye on. I love all the great artists that are contributing and could not begin to pick a favorite.”

Susan Cohen

Price: $20/Redux members, $30/non-members
