Redy to Wear

When: Wed., Oct. 6, 6 p.m. 2010

There’s nothing worse than arriving at a party only to find out you’re wearing the same thing as someone else. That probably doesn’t happen very often, but the chances are much greater during the Halloween season. You might think you’ve got a spot-on Sue-Sylvester-from-Glee get-up happening only to run into three others at your party of choice (and one of those even has a megaphone). If you want to guarantee that you won’t make a costume faux pas, while giving back to the community at the same time, head to Rebekah Jacob Gallery for the Redy to Wear Party, a benefit for the American College of the Building Arts. Local artists, like Timothy Pakron and Benjamin Hollingsworth (who have a show opening up this week at the gallery, see story p. 33), have designed masks for the silent auction. Bids start at $100. This is one Halloween costume you’ll keep forever. —Susan Cohen
