Repticon Charleston

When: Sat., July 30, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun., July 31, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 2011

Whether you have a basement full of pet iguanas, a passing interest in the Jesus Lizard, or the sick urge to see an exotic snake swallow Ratatouille and two of the three blind mice, Repticon is the place for you. The two-day trade show will gather some of the world’s most beautiful, rare, and dangerous reptiles under one air-conditioned roof. Vendors from all over the world will be selling both animals and animal care products. With so many vendors under one roof, you will be able to buy a glass terrarium, turn around, purchase a king snake, take a few steps, get a month’s worth of mice, turn the corner, listen to a lecture on snake upkeep, and be out the door with all you need to properly raise your new pet. More casual fans of scales and forked tongues can play with rare reptiles, listen to lectures (wait, snakes aren’t slimy?), and participate in raffles, whose proceeds go to the U.S. Association of Reptile Keepers. Purchase VIP tickets to receive product samples and be one of the first through the doors Saturday.
