SPORTS | Run y’all run The Run Forrest Run 5K begins at Joe Riley stadium’s front gate and ends at home plate where you will be greeted by the RiverDogs and their mascot. We haven’t heard yet if Mayor Joe and RiverDogs owner Bill Murray will be in attendance, but never say never. A pasta dinner, the race, and a T-shirt are all included in the entrance fee. Awards will be presented in the dugout and after the race runners are invited to stay for the game against the Greenville Drive beginning at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the race will benefit the MUSC Storm Eye Institute in their mission to find a cure for Retinitis Pigmentosa and other blinding diseases. This cause hits close to home for Mike Veeck, President of the RiverDogs — his daughter, Rebecca, lost her sight because of Retinitis Pigmentosa. You may pick up your packet on Fri., May 15 at Fleet Feet Sports in Mt. Pleasant between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. or on race day at The Joe between 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
