"The ultimate fantasy rock concert" featuring depictions of Elvis, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, John Lennon and more, backed by live rock band. Part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
If you believe in forever
Midtown/Sheri Grace's musical variety show is a time-tested Piccolo Spoleto tradition. Each year, Rock 'n' Roll Heaven pays homage to musicians who've moved on to the hereafter. It's a lesson in rock history and a celebration of hot tunes all rolled up into one opulent theatrical package.
If there's a rock 'n' roll heaven
Expect rocking (the singing performances are backed by a live band) as well as some outlandish costumes and some funny stuff. There will also be comedy skits and nods to the music world of long ago woven in between the musical performances.
You know they've got a hell of a band
There will be the standard tributes to Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and John Lennon along with plenty of surprises. Half the fun is anticipating which songs might be sung and being surprised by the ones you never expected. Will there be hard rock from Queen frontman Freddie Mercury? Melodies from Mama Cass? Will we re-experience Jimi Hendrix? We'll have to wait and see.
