Rock show/rockumentary at Terrace

Leslie 'might get loud' on Oct. 16

Scroungy-looking rock dudes usually get shushed for being loud and rowdy at the cinemas. However, local rock trio Leslie has permission to crank things up this week at the Terrace Theater (1956 Maybank Hwy.). In celebration of the premiere of a new rockumentary called It Might Get Loud, the band is scheduled to perform a live set inside the theatre at 10 p.m. on Fri. Oct. 16. Directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth), It Might Get Loud is a documentary about "three iconic guitarists in rock music" — Zep's Jimmy Page, U2's The Edge, and Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs).

"The most challenging part of the project was weaving these three stories together," says Guggenheim. "Each guitarist comes from a different generation, has different roots, different theories — sometimes in direct conflict of one another. I had a hunch that inter-cutting their stories would be really interesting."

Admission is $10 (for the rock show and the movie), and may be purchased at the box office or by phone (843) 762-4247.
