Young songwriter Rohan Shirali, a senior at the Academic Magnet High School, is a new player in the local scene, but he has already put time, effort, and money into producing a debut album. This weekend, he celebrates the release of an acoustic-based collection of originals titled Curious Things About Life with two concerts. On Friday at 7 p.m., Shirali shares the stage with Michael Moore and Nate Merli (of HeyRocco) at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, located on the corner of Calhoun and St. Philip streets. The following evening, he headlines a solo show at one of his recent haunts, Iacofano's at the Moultrie Shopping Center in Mt. Pleasant. The music starts at 8 p.m. Both shows are free and open to the public. Discs will be available for purchase for $10.
