When: Sat., May 16, 8 p.m. 2015
Come out to Local 616 for live music, vintage fashion, giveaways, and a good cause. The event kicks off at 8 p.m. with a short fashion show at 9 p.m. featuring vintage threads that can be purchased after the show from Runaround Sue Vintage. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a goody bag filled with local items, like jewelry, buttons, free music downloads, and cookies. Some bags will even contain Holy City Brewing vouchers that can be used that night. The winners of the City Paper’s Best of Charleston award for best punk band, Dumb Doctors, will be performing ’60s garage rock covers, along with the V-Tones who will be adding ’60s covers to their normal ragtime routine. The event will be emceed by yet another CP Best of Winner (See a theme? That’s probably because this event is organized by our very own music editor, Kelly Rae Smith) comedian Jeremy McClellan. It’s a hat party, so wear a vintage topper and get $2 off the $10 admission fee. This fourth annual charity event is to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and raffle funds are being donated to a young woman undergoing chemotherapy.
Price: $10, $8 if donning vintage hat
