Local yoga teacher Alexandra Seaman gave birth to a baby, Forrest, several months ago. Soon after her family and friends started a GoFundMe for Alex, Forrest, and Forrest's dad, Brandon Rudd. Forrest was born with an unknown condition, missing both legs and one arm. Since then, Forrest's GoFundMe has raised over $65,000, and Seaman and Rudd have been profiled in the P&C.

Next Fri. Dec. 8 from 6-9 p.m. The Salt Spa and Yoga and Inspired by Stephanie Rose team up to present a fundraising night for baby Forrest and his family. The evening will feature live music (band TBA); raffles with items from local artists, crafters, and businesses; and wine and appetizers. Raffle tickets are $10. If you can't make it to the fundraising evening, be sure to check out Forrest's GoFundMe page.

Earlier this year CP wrote about Seaman's Ecstatic Dance Charleston, a group that holds dance sessions at venues (mainly yoga studios) around Charleston. At the time Seaman said, "We come from a culture that seems to be overly self-conscious. ... The comment I get most is that people were nervous when they came and felt so far out of their comfort zone, but they felt so safe and able to express themselves and opened up like never before. That's the gift of the dance; it can set you free."
