Santa Bar Crawl

When: Sat., Dec. 13, 7 p.m.-2 a.m. 2014

Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’ll be crawling up King Street with a bunch of impersonators wearing Santa hats this Saturday for Charleston’s Santa Bar Crawl. Attendees will check in between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at MYNT. “The first 200 people to check in will receive a free Santa hat,” says event coordinator Hunter Wilson. After that, you’ll be makin’ your way up King Street for the evening. Participating bars include MYNT, Republic Garden and Lounge, Torch, King Street Public House, and more. For this event, substitute the milk and cookies for a bottle of beer, a glass of whiskey, and some bar snacks. The drink specials include Jack Daniels Fire and Corona. Costumes are encouraged — come dressed as Santa, Mrs. Claus, an elf, or a reindeer. We know you’ve at least got an ugly Christmas sweater or two from last year’s embarrassing themed parties. Get creative because prizes will be awarded for the best guy and girl costume. The crawl comes to an end when the bars close. If you’re planning on getting sloshed, go ahead and secure a safe ride. We don’t want grandma gettin’ run over by a reindeer again. Plus a DUI ticket isn’t really what you want for Christmas this year, is it?
