S.C. Stingrays vs. Wheeling Nailers

When: Sat., Dec. 27, 7:05 p.m. and Sun., Dec. 28, 3:05 p.m. 2014

We sometimes get a little sad right before the new year, but there’s something that always brings a smile to our faces: seeing people get hurt. Now, we don’t wish serious harm on anyone, but, let’s say, a hockey player gets bodychecked into the glass and a fight ensues, well that’d be alright with us. And that’s what we’re hoping for when the Stingrays take on the Nailers from Wheeling, W.Va in the two-game homestretch. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a free adult jersey on Saturday. And on Sunday, kids’ tickets and meals are just $5. Plus, it’s the USO Fort Jackson Holdover Troops game. “Over 400 holiday holdover troops from Fort Jackson come down to have some fun with us. It gets bigger every season,” explains Joseph Zakrzewski, director of communications with the Stingrays. “It is a way for us to say ‘thank you.’ They participate in on-ice games during the intermissions, ride our Fan Zam, and more.”
