The Charleston Brown Water Society partners with the Charleston City Paper to host the 2014 SC-TX BBQ Invitational. The event brings two BBQ legends to the area — John Lewis of La Barbecue in Austin, TX and Rodney Scott of Scott’s Bar-B-Que in Hemingway, S.C. Together the two will cook whole hog Certified Angus Beef® Prime Brisket, beef ribs, and sausage. Alongside will be local Gullah Chef BJ Dennis who will serve sides. There'll be a variety of beverages including beer from Holy City Brewery and Shiner Bock, King of Pops and spirits from 6 & 20 Distillery in Piedmont, S.C. and local distilleries Charleston Distillery, High Wire Distilling Co., and Stripped Pig Distillery.
