Yesterday in Atlanta, Cochon 555 challenged five chefs to make ten dishes from a heritage pig — snout to tail. It's the only national chef competition that promotes heritage pigs and breed diversity.
Two Charleston chefs — Chef Sean Brock and Chef Mike Lata — took the challenge and competed for the chance to be crowned "Prince of Porc" and move on to a final round at the Food + Wine Clasic in Aspen.
At the end of the day, the 20 judges and the hundreds of event attendees deemed Sean Brock to be the winner. Check out pictures of the event here.
Congrats to Brock. We hope he brings home the bacon in June.
