When: Thu., July 21, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. 2016
The Hearts Out! Turnabout! drag charity show returns for the second year in a row at the Upper Deck Tavern, this time to honor the victims of the June 12 Orlando PULSE massacre. Organized for the first time last year in response to the Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting, the show raised more than $3,000 for the families of the victims. This year, event planners hope to match or even exceed that, with proceeds going to the survivors and families of the victims of the Orlando shooting. Lip syncs, pantomimes, dances and a variety of other talents will be showcased by performers in drag, but with a twist: The event is a “turnabout” show, which means that it will switch the roles of the bar staff and the drag performers. Bar staff will be performing in drag, while the regular drag performers will be on the floor serving drinks. The event is being sponsored by PBR, and will include a raffle and a live DJ. Showtime is at 10, but get there early because space is limited.
Price: Free to attend
