When: Sun., April 10, 12:30-5 p.m. 2016
Considering that the majority of restaurants fail within the first year and 70 percent of those that survive the year fail within the next three to five years; making it to a 10th anniversary is a really big deal. Sesame Burgers and Beer, sister restaurant of Five Loaves, has successfully done that and grown to three locations, all of which draw a faithful following. To say thank you to their loyal customers they’re throwing a big ’ol Park Circle block party. There will be live music from Dallas Baker and Friends and Whiskey Diablo, a dunking booth, cornhole, face painting, hula hoops, balloon animals, and plenty of kids’ crafts. As for provisions and libations, Sesame will be providing the food while they bring in some local breweries like Revelry, COAST, and Cooper River Brewing. They’ll have some crowd favorite carnival snacks like kettle corn, hot boiled peanuts, popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches. Bring the kids, grandparents, neighbors, and pets because everyone is invited. The event is pet friendly in more ways than one; proceeds will benefit the Charleston Animal society, so don’t feel bad about going back for that second burger.
