Singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow — an amiable grade-school-teacher-turned-pop-star — made a splash in the alternative music scene in 1993 with her stylish but earthy debut, Tuesday Night Music Club. Propelled by the easy-groovin’ hits “All I Wanna Do,” “Strong Enough,” and “Can’t Cry Anymore,” the album reached No. 3 on the pop charts and earned three Grammy Awards. Other big Crow hits include “If It Makes You Happy,” “Everyday is a Winding Road,” and “My Favorite Mistake.” Over the last two decades, Crow has released seven studio collections, one live album, and various songs on film soundtracks. Touring behind her latest disc, 100 Miles from Memphis, she and her band headline the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Friday at 8 p.m. Reserved seats are on sale at the box office, Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000, and online at ticketmaster.com.
