Sizzling Summer Soiree

When: Sat., July 31, 6:30 p.m. 2010

Hey, Michael Emerson. Can’t you give me a little more closure on the LOST ending? And Carrie Preston, True Blood is moving much too slow for me. I like your character Arlene and all, but could you give me the lowdown on when Eric and Sookie are going to hook up? I ask these questions because the two actors will be in town on Saturday and they’re obviously going to grab a copy of the City Paper (Mike and Car: My e-mail address is The totally adorable pair is married in real life, and so it probably won’t be that hard for them to believably perform Love Letters, the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play by A. R. Gurney. Emerson will portray Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, a future senator who begins a life-long romance with Melissa Gardner in elementary school. The actors will sit side-by-side, reading the letters and notes the characters have sent to each other over the years. The Soiree begins earlier with cocktails at the Dock Street Theatre and is followed by a special after-party with the stars. —Susan Cohen
