If you've always wanted to check out SK8 Charleston, but aren't really a sk8er boi (or girl), then you've got four chances this summer. Starting on Fri. May 17, 6-9 p.m., SK8 Charleston hosts four themed events through August, with entry just $1 per each non-skater.
The Hawaiian Luau and Bowl Jam, sponsored by Parrot Surf and Skate, features bands Shr3d Crust and Hybrid Mutants performing on the skateboarding deck, with Smoky Oak Taproom food truck and King of Pops on site with bites all night. A bowl jam takes place in the intermediate bowl for skaters ages 14 and under, 6:30-7:30 p.m., and for all ages, 7:30-8 p.m.

Head back to SK8 on Thurs. June 13 for a hoedown; on Thurs. July 25 for a movie night; and a back to school bash on Mon. Aug. 19.

Entry is $1 per spectator and $3 for each skater. Learn more about the park and all upcoming events online at charlestoncountyparks.com/skatepark.
